Build a word chain in Dropdown
Dropdown starts with six letters and asks you to remove one at a time until only two remain. The letters keep their original order, and every shorter result must be a valid word in this edition's curated dictionary. The opening chain can run PLANET → PLANT → PANT → ANT → AN. A valid first step may still lead to a dead end, so consider the whole chain.
- Look for a five-letter word before dropping anything. Then check whether it has a four-letter continuation.
- Use the numbered letter buttons or keys 1–6. Undo lets you return from a dead end without rearranging letters.
- Journey has twenty rebuilt chains. Rush is a 60-second challenge; Zen removes the strike limit. Some chains use short dictionary words such as AI and AE.
Questions about Dropdown
- May I rearrange the remaining letters?
- No. You can only remove a letter. The order of all surviving letters stays the same.
- Why was a word rejected?
- This local edition checks a curated dictionary, rather than a complete English dictionary. A word outside that collection is rejected.
This independent local edition is based on Dropdown by jubiej. Its core gameplay and visual direction were observed in the reference; artwork, later puzzles and balancing are reconstructed. It runs from Plainoku’s own files and does not connect to the original game or a remote leaderboard.
