What deserves attention in 8 × 8 Cat Sudoku?

An eight-by-eight grid gives you sixty-four squares and eight cats to place. The Expert label refers to this size rather than guaranteeing advanced deduction patterns. Every row, column and irregular color region needs one cat, and neighboring cats cannot touch, including at a corner. Increasing the grid size changes how much you must organize, while each generated arrangement has its own useful constraints. It is sensible to choose this format for the wider working space, not because a name promises it will be harder than every smaller puzzle.

How can you compare candidates across cat regions?

When several regions stretch across much of the board, visual area alone is not a useful measure of freedom. Review the positions still legal after existing cats and their neighboring exclusions are considered. If all candidates of a region lie on one row or column, reserve that line and update other regions. Scan again after each justified exclusion rather than placing several tentative cats at once. The board may expose a useful restriction in a column that was less obvious when you looked only at the color shapes.

How can careful marks reduce repeated scanning?

A justified cross lets you avoid reconsidering the same square on each pass. After placing a cat, review the entire affected row, column and region, not only the nearby positions. Also check all edge and diagonal neighbors. On the wider grid, it helps to distinguish an exclusion you proved from a position you merely dislike. Mark records your reasoning, not a checked answer. If you erase a cat or undo several moves, revisit dependent crosses before declaring that another region has no legal home.

Can you use a keyboard for this Cat Sudoku size?

Tab enters the board at one active square rather than stopping at all sixty-four cells. Arrow keys move to neighboring positions and stop at the grid boundary; they do not wrap to another row. Enter or Space uses the current placement mode, including Mark. Tab leaves the board naturally. Undo, Erase and Hint remain available below it. These controls help with deliberate scanning, but do not solve a restriction for you. Hint reveals a correct position or removes an incorrect cat rather than supplying a logical explanation.

How do you choose a comfortable setup for eight-by-eight?

A desktop or a wider screen can make the region boundaries easier to inspect, while a smaller size remains available if precise tapping feels awkward. You can pause and return to the current board when browser storage is available; there is no account-based cloud save. Play again opens a fresh eight-by-eight practice puzzle after completion. Trying nine-by-nine is optional and requires no score or unlock. Pick the size that helps you reason clearly, rather than treating Expert as a certified rank or expecting every arrangement to require the same techniques.

When using touch controls, give yourself a clear view of the row and column before placing a cat. A small accidental tap can be reversed, but an unnoticed assumption may send your notes in the wrong direction. Inspect the selected square and the conflict explanation before continuing your next scan.
